Introduction

Pasternak, Boris Leonidovich păs´tərnăk˝, Rus. bərēs´ lyā˝ənyē´dəvĭch pəstyĭrnäk´ [key], 1890–1960, Russian poet and translator. Pasternak became an international symbol of the incorruptible moral courage of an artist in conflict with his political environment.
