Tychyna, Pavlo

Tychyna, Pavlo,1891–1967, Ukrainian poet. Tychyna's first volume of verse (Solar Clarinets,1919) revealed a strong symbolist influence. His later poetry, includingThe Party is our Guide(1934) andTo Grow and Act(1949)保持丰富的图像and rhythms, but conveyed a praise of Soviet communism that he eventually tempered. Tychyna is considered one of the major modern Ukrainian poets.
