Santa Gertrudis cattle

Santa Gertrudis cattle,breed of beef cattle derived from crosses between Shorthorn cows (seeShorthorn cattle) and Brahman bulls (seeBrahman cattle); the breed was developed by Robert J. Kleberg, Jr., of theKing Ranchin S Texas, in the early 1900s. The breed has been widely distributed in the United States, particularly in the South, and has been extensively exported.
