Grenfell, Bernard Pyne

Grenfell, Bernard Pyne grĕn´fĕl [key], 1869–1926, English classical scholar and Egyptologist. With Arthur Surridge Hunt he discovered at Oxyrhynchus the Logia of Jesus (seeAgrapha of Jesus). He became in 1908 professor of papyrology at Oxford and helped edit theOxyrhynchus Papyri(9 vol., 1897–1912) and other similar works.
