Leninsk-Kuznetski

Leninsk-Kuznetski lyĕ´nĭnsk-ko͞oznyĕt´skē [key], city (1989 pop. 165,000), S central Siberian Russia, on the Inya River. It is a coal center in theKuznetsk Basin. Founded in 1864 as a mining settlement called Kolchygino, it was renamed in 1925 and underwent rapid development in the 1930s and during World War II.
