Hiram

Hiram hī´rəm [key]. 1In the Bible, king of Tyre, c.969–936 BC, a friend of David and Solomon. Solomon and Hiram shared in trade with India and the Mediterranean, and Hiram sent much material for the Temple. 2In First Kings, artisan in metals from Tyre, sent for by Solomon to work on the ornamentation of the Temple. He appears as Huram in Second Chronicles.
