Intelligent (she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kentucky) and beautiful, Ashley Judd didn't head to Hollywood until after college. When she finally got there she was signed by an agency immediately, and has had supporting roles in films such asSmoke(1995),Heat(1995),A Time to Kill(1996), andKiss the Girls(1997). She appeared in the TV/HBO movieNorma Jean and Marilyn(1995) for which she received an Emmy nomination, and had recurring roles onStar Trek: The Next Generation(1987) andSisters(1991–94). In 1999 she costarred with Tommy Lee Jones in the hit movieDouble Jeopardy. Other films includeWhere the Heart Is(2000),Someone Like You(2001),Frida(2002), as Linda Porter inDe-Lovely(2004), and is pencilled in for the 2007 remake ofThe Women.She is the sister of country star Wynonna Judd and daughter of country star Naomi Judd
