OâFERRALL，弗吉尼亚州众议员查尔斯·特里普利特(Charles Triplett);1840年10月21日出生于弗吉尼亚州弗雷德里克县布鲁斯敦;上普通学校;1855年被任命为弗吉尼亚州摩根县巡回法院临时书记员;1857年当选办事员;1861年5月，作为二等兵加入联盟骑兵;从军士到上校，他历任军衔，在内战结束时指挥谢南多厄山谷的南方联盟骑兵;1869年毕业于弗吉尼亚州列克星敦的华盛顿学院法律系;获得律师资格，并开始在弗吉尼亚州哈里森堡执业;1871-1873年州议会代表; unsuccessful candidate for election in 1872 to the Forty-third Congress; judge of the county court of Rockingham County 1874-1880; Democratic State canvasser 1880-1883; successfully contested as a Democrat the election of John Paul to the Forty-eighth Congress; reelected to the Forty-ninth and to the four succeeding Congresses and served from May 5, 1884, until December 28, 1893, when he resigned, having been elected Governor; chairman, Committee on Mines and Mining (Fiftieth Congress), Committee on Elections (Fifty-second and Fifty-third Congresses); Governor of the State of Virginia 1894-1898; resumed the practice of law and also engaged in writing reminiscences of the Civil War; died in Richmond, Va., September 22, 1905; interment in Hollywood Cemetery.
