乔治·路易斯·威灵顿，国会议员，马里兰州(1852-1927)

惠灵顿，乔治·路易斯马里兰州众议员和参议员;1852年1月28日出生于马里兰州阿勒格尼县的坎伯兰;在一所德国学校上学并接受私人教育;1870年成为坎伯兰第二国民银行的职员，后来成为出纳员;1882年至1888年，1890年任阿勒格尼县司库;1889年竞选马里兰州审计长失败;1890-1893年在巴尔的摩担任美国财政助理;第五十三届国会议员落选;作为共和党人当选为第五十四届国会议员(1895年3月4日- 1897年3月3日);1897年3月4日至1903年3月3日当选为美国参议院议员; was not a candidate for reelection; chairman, Committee to Establish the University of the United States (Fifty-fifth and Fifty-sixth Congresses); unsuccessful candidate on the Progressive ticket for election to the United States Senate in 1913; engaged in civic activities; president of two banks and interested in the electric railways and lighting companies of Cumberland, Md.; died in that city March 20, 1927; interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
