霍尔特，约瑟夫·富兰克林三世，加州众议员;出生在马萨诸塞州汉普顿县的斯普林菲尔德。1924年7月6日;一岁时随父母搬到加州洛杉矶;上公立学校;1943年7月应征入伍，成为美国海军陆战队的二等兵;1945年10月退伍为少尉;1947年回到南加州大学，获理学士学位;从事保险业务后进入公关领域;加州青年共和党主席;1951年1月被召回海军陆战队，自愿到朝鲜服役; awarded the Purple Heart; elected as a Republican to the Eighty-third and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1953-January 3, 1961); was not a candidate for renomination in 1960; unsuccessful candidate in 1968 to the Ninety-first Congress; business consultant; died in Santa Maria, Calif. July 14, 1997.
