鲁弗斯·乔特，马萨诸塞州国会议员(1799-1859)

当,鲁弗斯马萨诸塞州众议员和参议员各一名;出生于马萨诸塞州埃塞克斯。1799年10月1日;1819年毕业于新罕布什尔州汉诺威的达特茅斯学院;学习法律;获得律师资格，并开始在马萨诸塞州丹佛斯执业。1823年;1825年州众议院议员;1826年州参议院议员;1828年搬到塞勒姆;1831年3月4日至1834年6月30日，他以辉格党成员的身份当选为第22届和第23届国会议员; moved to Boston in 1834; elected to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Daniel Webster and served from February 23, 1841, to March 3, 1845; retired from political life to devote his time to law; member of the State constitutional convention in 1853; attorney general of Massachusetts in 1853; died in Halifax, Nova Scotia, July 13, 1859; interment in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass.
