威廉·卡贝尔·布鲁斯，国会议员，医学博士(1860-1946)

布鲁斯，威廉·卡贝尔马里兰州参议员;1860年3月12日出生于弗吉尼亚州夏洛特县的斯汤顿山;在弗吉尼亚州纳尔逊县的诺伍德高中和学院接受了学术教育;曾就读于夏洛茨维尔的弗吉尼亚大学;1882年毕业于巴尔的摩的马里兰大学法学院;同年获得马里兰州律师资格，并开始在马里兰州巴尔的摩市执业;律师、作家;1917年因撰写本杰明·富兰克林传记而获得普利策奖;1894-1896年州参议员，1896年任总统;1903-1908年巴尔的摩市法律部门负责人; member, Baltimore Charter Commission 1910; general counsel to the Public Service Commission of Maryland 1910-1922, when he resigned; unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic nomination for United States Senator in 1916; elected as a Democrat to the United States Senate and served from March 4, 1923, to March 3, 1929; unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1928; resumed the practice of law in Baltimore until 1937, when he retired; died in Ruxton, Baltimore County, Md., May 9, 1946; interment in St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church Cemetery, Garrison, Md.
