As was the case with others before him, likeJohn Belushi,Dan AkroydandBill Murray, Damon Wayans graduated from theSaturday Night Liveensemble comedy show to a film career. In 1998 Wayans had his own TV show,Damon, where he played an off-beat detective solving crimes in a manner that incites giggles from the audience. From 2001–2005 he starred in the sitcomMy Wife and Kids,for which he had co-creator and writing credits. His movies include comedies likeCeltic Pride(1996),The Great White Hype(1996), andMo' Money(1992). He wrote the moviesBlankman(1994),Major Payne(1994), andMo' Money. His brother,Keenan Ivory Wayans, makes comedy writing and acting a family business.
